Message from Head of Laity

Dear Beloved in Christ,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! As the Head of Laity at St. Philip’s Church of Uganda (C.O.U.), it is both an honor and a sacred duty to serve alongside you—the faithful hands and feet of Christ in our community.

The laity is the heartbeat of the Church. Through your prayers, service, and dedication, God’s work flourishes in our church and beyond. Whether you are a lifelong member, a new friend, or someone seeking a spiritual home, know that you are valued and embraced here at St. Philip’s.

Together, we are called to live out our faith in practical ways—supporting one another, sharing the Gospel, and being Christ’s light in a world that so desperately needs hope. I encourage you to engage fully in the life of our church: join a fellowship group, participate in outreach, and let your gifts shine for God’s glory.

Message from Lay Reader

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! As a lay reader in our church family, it is both a joy and a privilege to serve alongside you in worship, prayer, and the proclamation of God’s Word.

The ministry of reading Scripture is more than just speaking words—it is an act of worship, a declaration of truth, and an invitation for the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts. Whether you are a longtime member, a new visitor, or someone exploring faith from afar, know that you are welcome here. God’s Word is alive, and through it, He speaks love, grace, and transformation into our lives.

I encourage you to join us in worship, dive into Scripture, and let the words we read together shape your walk with Christ. If you ever have questions, prayer requests, or simply want to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. The church is not a building—it’s a family, and we’re here to grow together in faith.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

Our Church Ministries

CWF

Christian Women’s Fellowship is a place where women of faith come together to support, uplift, and grow stronger in their spiritual walk with God. In this fellowship we deepen our relationship with God, encourage one another, and serve our families and community with love, wisdom, and strength.

Fathers Union

As fathers, husbands, and role models, we come together to support one another in fulfilling our God given responsibilities and building strong, faith filled families. We encourage men to live their faith with integrity, guide their households in love, and serve as pillars of the church and society.

Mothers Union

As mothers, wives, and caretakers, we are committed to living out Christ’s love through service, prayer, and support for one another. Our mission is to empower women to strengthen their families and communities through spiritual guidance, compassion, leadership, and a nurturing environment where all can grow in faith.

CMF

As men, we are called to be spiritual leaders in our homes, our churches, and our communities. Through this fellowship we strengthen our relationship with God, build meaningful friendships, and encourage one another to become better husbands, fathers, and faithful servants of Christ in everyday life.

Children’s Ministry

Children’s Church is a ministry for children at St Philip’s Church where young believers learn about God’s Word. Through teaching, prayer, and fellowship, children from preschool to thirteen years grow in faith, character, and understanding while volunteers guide them in age appropriate learning and Christian values.

Missions and Evangelism

St Philip’s Church participates in diocesan mission programs and evangelism outreach to share the Gospel with others. Through missions to Ssese Islands and weekly radio evangelism, we reach the lost and elderly, making a difference in the lives of people both near and far.

Discipleship Ministry

The Discipleship Ministry helps believers grow spiritually by guiding them in their journey of following Christ. Through Bible studies, fellowships, mentorship, and prayer, members gain deeper understanding of God’s Word, strengthen their faith, and learn to live out Christian values in everyday life.

Church Choir

The Church Choir leads the congregation in praise and worship through hymns and uplifting songs. Through music we glorify God, inspire the church, and encourage unity among believers while sharing joy, comfort, and spiritual connection during worship and church services.
